Who We Help
Through the Gate is a supervised 24/7 residential treatment center with a focus on intensive discipleship for women who are struggling with drugs and alcohol. We are a Christian faith based treatment center for women only, age 18 and above. Our staff and program focus on applying loving, practical solutions from God’s Word to help produce permanent and lasting change in women whose lives have become characterized by negative, life-dominating habits. Our program is designed to help solve these problems by using a relationship with Christ and the direction available from His Word as the basis for change and growth.
Through the Gate is an 8-month program.
During a residents time at Through the Gate they will participate in various classes daily and meets with a counselor/mentor every week. These classes are tailored to the specific needs of our residents. A few of the classes that we offer are addiction and relapse prevention, economics, communication skills, Christian morals and values, and GED training, if necessary.
We want to ensure that our residents have every opportunity to be successful when they leave Through the Gate. Many of our residents have not worked for a long time or may have never worked at all. So, before we send them out to the job market, we want to help them get ready. During their time here, each resident will be doing job training, learning how to work on a team, how to be self-motivated, how to work with clients, what customer service looks like, budgeting skills, and overall general good work ethics. This will help them be prepared for employment when they graduate.
We want to send responsible, drug free citizens back into their communities. During a residents time here we will work to find mentors and set up a solid accountability system. We offer counseling to each resident and help them re-enter society completely and successfully after they graduate our program.
Through the Gate exists to help women by giving them the opportunity to learn a new way of living, a more beneficial method of handling problems, and a chance to be completely committed to pleasing God and growing to become more like Christ.
At Through the Gate, we understand the need to help our residents learn to love reading and be proficient at it. Through reading they can attain knowledge, and through knowledge, discernment and wisdom, helping them develop a disciplined work ethic and learn critical thinking skills.
At Through the Gate, we understand the importance of classroom studies. With classroom studies our women can learn how to take notes, work together in groups, interact with the instructor and show understanding and mastery of the subjects through discussion. They will also obtain homework discipline and how to write reports and learn time management.
At Through the Gate, we recognize that all of us, at some time in our lives, need someone to talk to about the daily struggles we encounter.
Through counseling, we have the opportunity to help our women in a one-on-one atmosphere, which allows them to have the freedom and comfort to open up about their particular difficulties.
