Romans 6:1-4. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. I love this verse because it rules out that just because we are saved we can do what we want or sin so grace will abound. A lot of people today actually think that by repeating a prayer after someone they are saved and can do whatever they want. This is a heart issue. When Christ reveals himself to you and you see His beauty and what He has done it produces a humble heart. We obey because we have faith in His word and in Him and know that He gives us commands for our good not so we can't have fun. The law is good. I know before Jesus really opened my eyes I thought i could just pray a prayer then do whatever I wanted but my heart wasn't on Christ it was on me. I'm thank Christ opened my eyes. I pray that our eyes would be open to truth and not our own selfish wants.
