Day 23 took us through Psalms 113-117.
Psalm 113 shows us that there is no other god in any religion who is like our God! He is all-powerful, all-knowing, faithful, and abounding in love. He alone provides everything we need and loves us enough to pursue our hearts, desiring a personal relationship with each one of us.
Psalm 114 is awesome as it tells how all of the earth should tremble at the presence of the Lord. He is so holy and high above all else that just being in His presence should cause every creature and living thing, every part of the earth itself to fall down in worship of Him.
Psalm 115 is so important for us to understand. This Psalm is all about giving glory to God and not taking any credit or praise away from Him. Anything we have or accomplish is because He has blessed us with it or with the ability to perform such a task. Our strength, knowledge, and power come from Him. The song goes on to repeat that God is our shield and our strength. I love this. He is the one providing us with protection from all things and giving us strength to carry on.
Psalm 116 is beautiful in the ways it praises God for hearing and delivering His people. I love verse 17; “I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call upon the name of the Lord.” We should continually offer thanks to God and call upon His name in prayer. He is our deliverer, our Savior. He is our shelter, refuge, and strength. He deserves the highest praise!
Fun fact about Psalm 117—it is the shortest chapter in all of the Bible! Though it is only two verses, it is full of powerful encouragement. It calls us to worship the Lord, praising Him for His steadfast love and faithfulness toward His people. It’s beautiful!
