TTG Update

11/1/2013

Hello everyone!  We've recently had another meeting for Through the Gate.  It was a good one!  We were able to see the van, fully restored!  We were all a bit emotional as we looked at for the first time.  It's tangible proof that God still works miracles, he's working for Through the Gate, and we are so blessed to be a part of it.  We can't possible thank those who fixed it up enough.
This meeting had a feeling of urgency about it.  We have recently been in contact with some others from our area who know of different churches, organizations, and/or individuals who may be able to help us.  We have a meeting coming up in a couple of weeks to meet those people.  I'm really hoping that this is another door that God is opening for us.  Pray for us and for this meeting.
This meeting made us realize, that we are ready to start with some advertising for TTG and praying that some of the churches/individuals will be willing to learn who we are and what we do.  Very exciting to start spreading the TTG love!  We have recently started a Facebook page, so look us up, and we are looking at getting some Powerpoint presentations, paper media, and a new video!  We have the initial video and it is now in the editing room.
Most importantly, we talked about the girls who are "graduating" soon.  What that means is that some of them will be going from the plus unit, which is nicer, back "over the hill".  The plus unit is where they can go to have nicer accommodations, be able to attend church services, and other classes.  They have to apply to get into the unit, but it's only a temporary stay.  I think most of them get to stay a year.  After that, they go back to the other dorms, get moved to other institutions, or get released.  It's a very stressful time for a lot of the women.  We ask you to pray for them during this time of transition.
Lastly, we talked about how we can raise the $6500 initial start up cost for the TtG building.  We had some really good ideas thrown out, including a potential local concert.  Most importantly, we wanted to be very careful to make sure that we were totally dependent upon the Lord to provide us with everything that we need for TtG.  So far, He has amazed us at his gifts, his work, and the doors that he continues to open.  If you feel like God is asking you to help us, please go to contact us and fill out the form.  If not, please pray for us, for our ministry to glorify God, for the staff, and for the women at Rockville.

-Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
