*Through The Gate is a TOBACCO FREE campus*
WHO WE ARE
Through The Gate was founded by Steve and Janet Covington in 2014. Steve is also the Pastor of Stonewater Church in Linden IN. After serving as chaplain in Rockville women's prison, Steve knew he wanted to help the lost and broken. He wondered why many of them returned to prison. When they shared their stories, Steve was moved to help them even more.
When a heart condition left him unemployed and with a settlement, the Covington's decided to do just that. They poured themselves into creating a place for the downcast to draw near to God and start a new life.
Our name and logo represent passing from a life of shackles and captivity to a free life in the house of faith.
WHO WE HELP
Our 501C3 NON-PROFIT home is for women who want help with life dominating issues, like addiction. Our faith-based program is designed to transform from the inside out! Our biblical classes, self studies, and counseling are created to help women get sober, rebuild their lives, reconcile healthy relationships, find peace and hope, and strengthen their faith. Our facility offer biblical solutions for:
* Addiction prevention and recovery
* Re-entry / Life after prison
* Domestic safety
We accept adult women only and do not currently house any children in our building. Though our headquarters are based in Montgomery County Indiana, we have participants from around the country!

Addiction is a heart problem
You will rarely hear the word 'addict' at Through The Gate. This is because in Christ, we are a new creation (2COR5:17). Scripture teaches that addiction is not a disease, but rather a condition of the heart known as idolatry. Idolatry is a problem that every person struggles with and occurs when we value anything more than God.
This is why our program is able to free women from not just chemical dependency, but many mental issues, homelessness, brokenness, and despair. When God is in His rightful place in our hearts, a thousand problems are solved at once.
Thankfully, the bible has much to say about both our heart condition and the solution! Redemption and fullness of life are attainable because our hope is living, supreme, and able to do what we are not!
Stay involved with our efforts to draw in community support through fundraising! During COVID we have made more attempts to spread awareness and gain support online! You can help our ministry today by ordering a Christian themed T-Shirt from our online facebook store as a gift to yourself or friends! All proceeds help women in our program.
