Begin Your Path to Healing at Through the Gate

There is no application fee to apply. However, there is a $200 intake fee that must be paid before admittance. This fee is accepted only in cash or money order—checks are not accepted.

After the first 30 days, the cost is $360 per month for 7 months.

We do not accept Recovery Works or insurance.

The total cost of the program is $2,720.

Any woman who is ready to commit to 8 months of biblical life recovery is welcome to apply for residency.

We have helped women seeking freedom from chronic homelessness, re-entry from jail or prison, depression, anxiety, or past trauma. If you are facing challenges that make it difficult to thrive in life, you may be eligible for our program.

If you believe our program could benefit you for any other reason, we encourage you to apply.

We do not provide specialized detox treatments.

While many women have successfully gone "cold turkey" here, we only offer standard over-the-counter relief (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc.), along with hot showers and a warm bed to help ease discomfort.

We understand this process is challenging, but if you’re committed, it can be done!

However, if you are withdrawing from substances where withdrawal symptoms could be life-threatening, you must complete detox before arriving.

For the first 90 days, residents focus intensively on their studies and do not have access to cell phones or away visits.

In-house visits are primarily limited to children and authority figures.

After this phase, residents undergo a progress evaluation to determine if they are ready to handle the temptations that come with additional privileges.

We do support women dealing with mental health challenges!

However, we do not prescribe medication, allow narcotics in our home, or have the resources to treat psychosis.

Many women have successfully overcome or reduced the effects of depression, anxiety, and similar struggles through our intensive 8-month life recovery program.

We offer limited transitional housing for eligible graduates of our 8-month residential program.

If a room is available and the graduate meets our requirements, she is welcome to move in. There is no time limit for how long a compliant resident can stay—we understand that everyone's situation is different.

While children are allowed to visit, they cannot reside in the transitional house.

Yes, each resident is typically assigned a counselor within the first 30 days of the program.

After you apply it will take about 2 business days for us to evaluate your application and make a decision. In the review process we may need to contact you for clarification or to get more information from you, which may slow the process down.

Yes — and we strongly encourage it.

Many women who come to Through the Gate didn’t feel “ready” at first — they just knew something needed to change. You don’t have to be confident, strong, or certain to take the next step. You only need to be willing to reach out.
