Our Biblical Counseling Model

Through the Gate does not operate as a clinical treatment center and does not provide licensed therapy or secular evidence-based treatment models. Instead, our counselors are trained through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and commissioned through The Addiction Connection (TAC), founded by Dr. Mark Shaw. This means the counseling women receive here is rooted in Scripture and biblical principles of transformation, not clinical psychology.

What a Day at Through the Gate Looks Like

Women in the program live together in a residential recovery home setting rather than commuting in for appointments. The structure is designed to remove distractions and outside pressures during the most critical part of recovery:

Through the Gate accepts women from anywhere in the United States — roughly one-third to one-half of the women in our program come from out of state. If you don't live near Crawfordsville, Indiana, distance alone shouldn't rule out applying.
